In the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, who is Kanga’s son?

The story behind the answer

Roo is Kanga’s son in the Winnie-the-Pooh stories.

Roo is a young kangaroo and one of the central animals in the Hundred Acre Wood. He arrives with Kanga in Winnie-the-Pooh and is initially at the center of the other animals’ fears and plans.

His character is energetic, curious and eager to take part in adventures. Kanga’s careful, motherly personality contrasts with Roo’s enthusiasm, creating one of the series’ most recognizable family relationships.

Roo should not be confused with Tigger, who later becomes closely associated with Kanga and Roo. Tigger is a tiger and a separate character, while Roo remains Kanga’s child throughout the main stories.
