In the Quranic account of Noah’s Ark, the Ark rested on Mount Judi.
Quran 11:44 says that the vessel came to rest upon al-Judi after the waters subsided. Mount Judi is traditionally associated with the Cudi mountain area in southeastern Turkey, near the modern borders of Iraq and Syria. The Quranic wording differs from Genesis, which refers to the mountains of Ararat.
The two accounts share broad themes—divine warning, a constructed vessel, a devastating flood, and the survival of Noah’s household—but they do not provide identical details. For that reason, Mount Judi is the specific answer for the Quranic tradition, while the mountains of Ararat belong to Genesis.
Many English references use spellings such as Judi, Judi, or al-Judi. “Mount Ararat” is a familiar popular answer because of the biblical tradition, but it does not match the Quran’s named mountain.
