In the Quran, Noah’s Ark comes to rest on Mount Judi.
Surah Hud 11:44 says that the ark settled upon al-Judi after the waters subsided. The Quranic account is related to the broader Abrahamic Flood tradition but uses different details and wording from Genesis, where the ark rests on the mountains of Ararat.
Mount Judi is commonly associated with Cudi Dağı in southeastern Turkey, near the borders of Iraq and Syria. The exact historical and geographical relationship between the Quranic mountain and locations mentioned in other traditions has been discussed by commentators for centuries.
Mount Judi should not be substituted with Mount Ararat simply because Ararat is the best-known modern ark location in popular culture. They come from different textual traditions: Judi is the Quranic answer, while the mountains of Ararat are the Genesis wording.
