In the Quran, what mountain is associated with Noah’s Ark coming to rest?

The story behind the answer

In the Quran, Noah’s Ark is associated with Mount Judi.

Surah Hud 11:44 says that, after the flood subsided, the Ark came to rest on Judi. The Quranic account differs in several details from Genesis, including the mountain name used for the Ark’s resting place. Mount Judi is commonly identified with Cudi Dağı in southeastern Turkey, close to the borders of Iraq and Syria, although the precise historical identification has been discussed by scholars.

The Quran describes Noah warning his people, the coming of the flood, and the survival of those aboard the vessel by God’s command. It also includes a dialogue involving one of Noah’s sons, a detail not found in the Genesis narrative.

Mount Judi should not be confused with the mountains of Ararat named in Genesis. Later Islamic, Jewish, and Christian traditions sometimes overlap in their treatment of Noah, but the specific name Judi belongs to the Quranic account. The Quran does not call the location Mount Ararat.
