In the Qur'an, Nuh is the prophet who builds the Ark before the Flood.
Nuh is the Arabic name of Noah, and the Qur'an presents him as a messenger who warns his people and calls them to worship God. The Flood narrative appears in several surahs, including Hud, Al-Mu'minun, Ash-Shu'ara, Al-Qamar, and Nuh.
The Qur'anic account shares the central idea of a divinely commanded Ark but differs in details from Genesis. It emphasizes Nuh's preaching, the rejection of his warning, and God's judgment. In Surah Hud, the Ark is described as coming to rest on Mount Judi rather than being identified with the mountains of Ararat.
The name Nuh is therefore the precise answer for the Qur'anic framing. “Noah” is the common English form used in biblical and comparative discussions, but the Arabic scripture uses Nuh.
