In the Quran, Nuh is the prophet associated with the Ark. Nuh is the Arabic form of Noah, and the Quran recounts his warning to his people, the construction of the vessel, and the flood.
The Quran discusses Nuh in several chapters, including Surah Hud, Surah Al-Mu’minun, Surah Ash-Shu’ara, and Surah Nuh. The account shares the central theme of rescue by a divinely commanded ship but presents its own wording and emphases.
Nuh is also the name of the Quran’s seventy-first chapter, commonly translated as “Noah.” Other prophets named in the Quran, such as Hud, Salih, and Lut, belong to different narratives. Using Nuh rather than one of those names is therefore important when identifying the Ark’s prophet in Islamic scripture.
