In the Quran, on which mountain is Noah’s Ark said to settle?

The story behind the answer

In the Quran, Noah’s Ark is said to settle on Mount Judi.

Surah Hud 11:44 describes the floodwaters subsiding and the Ark settling upon al-Judi. The Quranic location differs from the wording of Genesis, which refers to the mountains of Ararat. Mount Judi, also called Cudi or Jabal Judi in different transliterations, is traditionally identified with a mountain in southeastern Turkey near the borders of Iraq and Syria.

The two traditions are often blended in popular retellings, leading to Mount Ararat being supplied as the answer to every version of the story. For a Quran-specific question, however, Mount Judi is the relevant name. The Quran does not give the Ark’s dimensions in the same way Genesis does, and Arabic transliteration can produce several spellings, but “Mount Judi” is the standard English form used for the Quranic mountain.
