In the Leprechaun film franchise, Warwick Davis played the title leprechaun in the first six films.
Davis first played the character in Leprechaun, released in 1993, and returned for Leprechaun 2, Leprechaun 3, Leprechaun 4: In Space, Leprechaun in the Hood, and Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood. His performance combined menace with sarcastic humor, helping the series develop a distinctive comic-horror identity.
A common mix-up is assuming that every Leprechaun movie features Davis. He did not appear in the 2014 reboot Leprechaun: Origins, which starred Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl as the creature. Davis returned for Leprechaun Returns in 2018, but that film follows the original continuity in a different way and was not one of the first six entries.
The original film was directed by Mark Jones and featured Jennifer Aniston in one of her early film roles. The franchise’s settings later expanded from suburban homes to Las Vegas, outer space, and an urban neighborhood.
