In A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, what is the film’s subtitle?

In A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, the film’s subtitle is The Dream Master. Released in 1988, it is the fourth movie in the A Nightmare on Elm Street film series and follows the survivors of Dream Warriors as Freddy Krueger returns.

The story centres on Kristen Parker, who can bring other people into her dreams, and Alice Johnson, who becomes increasingly important after Kristen transfers her dream ability. Freddy uses the dream world to attack the remaining teenagers, while Alice’s growing confidence enables her to challenge him.

The title refers to the supernatural dream setting and Alice’s development as a powerful opponent within it. It is sometimes confused with The Dream Warriors, the subtitle of the third film, or The Dream Child, the subtitle of the fifth film. Those titles belong to different entries in the same series.

Renny Harlin directed The Dream Master, which became one of the franchise’s commercially successful instalments. The film also helped establish Alice as a major protagonist for the next sequel.
