In the Genesis account of Noah’s Ark, the King James Version describes Noah making a window in the Ark.
Genesis 6:16 instructs Noah to make a window and finish the Ark to a specified height. The Hebrew wording behind this verse is unusual, and translations differ in how they render the opening. The King James Version uses “window,” while other English versions may use terms such as “roof,” “opening,” or “light.”
This variation makes the question translation-specific. It does not mean that the story provides a complete modern architectural specification. Genesis also mentions a door and three decks, but the exact design of the opening is debated by translators.
Later artistic reconstructions often depict a large roof opening, a row of windows, or a lantern-like structure. Those images go beyond what the brief biblical description securely establishes.
