Shaun Pulfrey created the Tangle Teezer hairbrush and presented it on the British television series Dragon's Den.
Pulfrey, a hairdresser and inventor, developed the product to detangle hair with less pulling. Its distinctive design used flexible teeth rather than the conventional arrangement found on many brushes. He pitched the invention on the programme in 2007, but the dragons did not invest.
The rejection did not prevent the product from becoming commercially successful. Tangle Teezer later expanded into a range of detangling brushes and became an internationally recognised hair-care brand. This is a frequently cited example of a Dragon's Den pitch that became successful without an on-screen deal.
Tangle Teezer is sometimes confused with other products that appeared on the show, including Trunki. Trunki is a ride-on children's suitcase associated with Rob Law, whereas Tangle Teezer is the hairbrush created by Pulfrey.
