In the Book of Genesis, who builds Noah’s Ark?
Answer
Noah
Answer
Noah
Noah builds Noah’s Ark in the Book of Genesis. Genesis presents Noah as a righteous man chosen to survive a catastrophic flood with his family and representatives of the animal world.
The account says God instructs Noah to construct the ark, seal it, and fill it with provisions. Noah’s wife, his three sons, and his sons’ wives enter the vessel with him. The story describes the ark as a large rectangular craft made to preserve life during the flood.
Noah is also the central human figure in related flood traditions. The Quran names him Nuh, while Mesopotamian flood stories feature other survivors, including Utnapishtim in the Epic of Gilgamesh. These are related traditions, but their characters and details are not identical. In Genesis, however, Noah is the builder and captain of the ark.
