In the 2014 film Noah, who played Noah’s wife Naameh?

Jennifer Connelly played Noah’s wife Naameh in the 2014 film Noah.

Directed by Darren Aronofsky, the film expands the brief biblical account by giving Noah’s household a more developed family drama. Connelly’s Naameh is Noah’s wife and the mother of Shem, Ham, and Japheth in the film’s family structure. Her character helps represent the emotional and human consequences of Noah’s mission.

The name Naameh comes from the biblical genealogy in Genesis 4:22, where Naamah is identified as the sister of Tubal-cain. Genesis does not identify that Naamah as Noah’s wife, so the film’s use of the name is an adaptation choice rather than a straightforward quotation from the Ark narrative.

Jennifer Connelly had previously worked with Aronofsky in Requiem for a Dream. In Noah, she appears alongside Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, and Douglas Booth. These casting and character details belong to the 2014 film, not to Genesis itself.
