The FBI agent Utah in the 1991 heist film Point Break is named Johnny Utah.
Keanu Reeves plays Johnny Utah, a former college football player recruited into the FBI. He investigates a series of Southern California bank robberies committed by criminals wearing masks resembling former presidents. His investigation leads him into the surfing community and to Bodhi, played by Patrick Swayze.
Johnny's assignment requires him to work with veteran agent Angelo Pappas, who suspects that the robbers are surfers. The undercover investigation gradually becomes complicated because Utah develops respect for Bodhi's confidence and philosophy, even while pursuing him.
Point Break is often remembered primarily as a surfing and action film, but its plot is built around a string of bank robberies and the FBI's attempt to identify the crew. The 1991 film was directed by Kathryn Bigelow.
