In Spyro: Year of the Dragon, what land does Spyro enter to retrieve the stolen eggs?

The story behind the answer

In Spyro: Year of the Dragon, Spyro enters the Forgotten Realms to retrieve the stolen dragon eggs.

The game opens during the Year of the Dragon, a celebration held once every twelve years when new dragon eggs arrive in the Dragon Realms. Bianca, an apprentice working for the Sorceress, leads an invasion by Rhynocs and steals the eggs. The Sorceress then scatters them across the lands known as the Forgotten Realms.

Spyro, Sparx, and Hunter pursue the thieves through several hub worlds and their connected levels. Spyro must recover eggs, collect gems, defeat Rhynocs, and complete minigames. The Forgotten Realms were once inhabited by dragons, but the dragons were driven away by the Sorceress. Their absence caused magic to gradually disappear from those lands.

The title is often confused with Dragon Realms, which is Spyro’s homeland, or Avalar, the setting of Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! Fairy Realms are associated with a different Spyro game and are not the destination in Year of the Dragon. The stolen eggs are central to the plot because the Sorceress wants to exploit the baby dragons’ wings in a quest for immortality.
