In Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, what type of creature is Zoe?

The story behind the answer

In Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, Zoe is a fairy. She serves as one of Spyro’s guides and checkpoint characters, helping mark progress as he travels through Avalar’s realms.

Zoe appears in several levels and gives Spyro useful guidance about the surrounding world. When Spyro reaches her, she can activate a checkpoint, allowing him to return to that location after losing a life. This makes her functionally important even though she is not a combat partner or major boss character.

Zoe belongs to the distinctive supporting cast introduced in Spyro 2. The game’s world includes Elora the faun, Hunter the cheetah, the Professor the mole, and Moneybags the bear, alongside fairies and other magical inhabitants. Their varied designs help give Avalar a storybook, mythological identity.

A common mix-up comes from Spyro’s own dragonfly companion, Sparx, or from the game’s many magical creatures. Zoe is neither a dragonfly nor a satyr or faun. She is specifically depicted and identified as a fairy, usually appearing with wings and a bright, helpful personality.
