In Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, what kind of animal is Hunter?

In Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, Hunter is a cheetah. He is one of Spyro’s principal allies in Avalar, the fantasy world where the game takes place, and his speed and athleticism distinguish him from the other supporting characters.

Hunter helps Spyro oppose Ripto after the villain invades Avalar with Crush and Gulp. His missions often involve jumping, gliding, chasing, or rescuing characters, reflecting the cheetah’s reputation for speed. Hunter is also portrayed as adventurous and good-natured, though his confidence sometimes exceeds his competence.

The game introduces him alongside Elora the faun, the Professor the mole, and Moneybags the bear. These characters summon Spyro after Ripto becomes trapped in Avalar and destroys the portal connecting it to the Dragon Realms. Hunter later becomes a recurring figure throughout the Spyro series.
