In Predator 2, which American city becomes the hunting ground for the Predator?

The story behind the answer

In Predator 2, Los Angeles becomes the hunting ground for the Predator.

The 1990 sequel moves the action away from the Central American jungle of Predator and into a near-future version of Los Angeles. The city is suffering from an intense gang war, creating frequent violence and chaos that allow the extraterrestrial hunter to operate with relative secrecy.

Danny Glover plays Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, a police officer investigating the escalating conflict. Harrigan gradually discovers that the killings are not being committed by rival gangs alone. The Predator targets armed and dangerous opponents, including gang members and criminals, while collecting trophies from its victories.

The urban setting is a major change for the franchise. Instead of isolated jungle terrain, the sequel uses streets, rooftops, warehouses and public transport. A common mix-up is assuming the second film remains in the jungle because the first movie established that location. Predator 2 specifically expands the mythology by showing the creature hunting in a major city.
