In Pixar's Cars, the black race car who is Lightning McQueen's main rival is Chick Hicks.
Chick Hicks competes in the Piston Cup and is characterized by aggressive tactics and a strong desire to defeat veteran champion Strip Weathers. His green sponsor decals and moustache-like grille markings distinguish him from McQueen's red design.
Chick's rivalry with McQueen is driven by his competitive ambition, but the film presents his methods as unsportsmanlike. In the final race, he causes The King's crash and then accepts the trophy after McQueen stops to help his injured rival.
Chick is voiced by Michael Keaton. He should not be confused with Cal Weathers, a later-generation Piston Cup racer who appears in Cars 3, or with The King, whose name is Strip Weathers. Chick's behavior helps establish the film's contrast between winning at any cost and earning respect.
