In Pixar's Cars 3, who is Lightning McQueen's new high-tech rival?

Jackson Storm is Lightning McQueen's new high-tech rival in Pixar's Cars 3.

Storm represents a new generation of highly engineered racers. He is faster and more technologically advanced than many established competitors, and his early success makes McQueen question whether experience can overcome changing racing methods.

The rivalry begins when Storm dominates the Piston Cup season and McQueen suffers a serious crash while trying to keep up. McQueen then trains with Cruz Ramirez, whose unconventional approach eventually helps him rediscover confidence.

Storm is voiced by Armie Hammer. Unlike Chick Hicks, who is McQueen's principal rival in the first film, Storm is created as a younger competitor whose arrival drives Cars 3's story about aging, mentorship, and succession.
