In Pixar’s Cars 3, Cruz Ramirez becomes Lightning McQueen’s trainer before becoming his racing partner.
Cruz works at the Rust-eze Racing Center and initially helps McQueen with simulator exercises, fitness routines, and technical preparation. Their relationship changes when McQueen’s comeback training reveals Cruz’s own unrealized racing ability. The film gradually moves her from a support role into an active competitor.
Cristela Alonzo voices Cruz in the English-language film. Cruz is a yellow sports coupe, while McQueen remains the veteran racer she first assists.
