Louise Nash was Doc Hudson’s rival during the Fabulous Hudson Hornet’s racing era in Pixar’s Cars 3.
Louise is introduced in the Thomasville sequence as one of the veteran racers who competed during Doc’s prime. She is known as the Barnstormer and is voiced by Margo Martindale. Her recollections help Lightning understand that Doc was part of a larger generation of racers whose careers were shaped by fierce competition and close personal connections.
Louise’s presence expands the film’s history beyond Doc alone. Alongside Smokey and other veteran racers, she shows what racing looked like before the modern high-tech era represented by Jackson Storm.
She is not Cruz Ramirez, Lightning’s trainer, nor Natalie Certain, a racing analyst associated with the modern competition. Sally Carrera is Lightning’s friend in Radiator Springs and was not Doc’s racing-era opponent.
