In Palworld, player-built bases act as what kind of points?

The story behind the answer

In Palworld, player-built bases act as fast travel points.

A base becomes a travel destination when the player establishes a Palbox there. Once activated, it appears on the map alongside the game’s fixed fast-travel landmarks, allowing the player to teleport between bases and other unlocked points instead of crossing the entire island on foot or by mount.

This makes bases more than workshops or shelters. Players can place them near resource deposits, dungeons, settlements, or dangerous regions, then use the network to move supplies and return quickly after expeditions. Bases also provide storage, crafting stations, defenses, and facilities where assigned Pals work.

The answer is not “save points.” Palworld does save player progress, but a base’s travel function is a separate gameplay system. Nor are bases spawn gates: respawning and fast travel are related conveniences, yet they are not identical mechanics. Fixed Great Eagle Statues provide the other major type of fast-travel destination.
