The Four Horsemen
Answer
The Four Horsemen
The magician group carrying out the heists in Now You See Me (2013) is called the Four Horsemen.
The group consists of J. Daniel Atlas, Merritt McKinney, Henley Reeves and Jack Wilder. They are brought together by a mysterious sponsor and become famous for spectacular stage shows that appear to involve impossible robberies. Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco play the four original members.
Their first major performance appears to rob a Paris bank while the magicians are performing in Las Vegas. Later acts target a wealthy insurance executive and a corrupt businessman. FBI agent Dylan Rhodes and Interpol detective Alma Dray investigate how the performances could have enabled the crimes.
The name draws on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, although the film’s characters use the term as a theatrical brand. A common mistake is to call the group “the Illusionists,” which describes their profession but is not their name. Louis Leterrier directed the film.
