After Ethan Hunt’s team attempts to stop Hendricks at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, they travel to India to locate nuclear launch information and confront an arms broker connected to the plan. The Mumbai section provides the film’s final major operation and brings together several threads from the earlier missions.
The city’s high-rise settings, traffic, and lavish party scenes give the final act a different visual character from the Kremlin and Dubai sequences. Ethan, Benji Dunn, Jane Carter, and William Brandt must divide their responsibilities while trying to prevent a nuclear exchange.
This location is sometimes confused with Moscow, which is the film’s opening operational setting, or Dubai, where the Burj Khalifa sequence occurs. Mumbai is the concluding destination in the film’s international route and the location of the final confrontation.
