Paris hosts the bathroom fight between Ethan Hunt and August Walker in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
The sequence takes place during Ethan and Walker’s attempt to capture John Lark at a nightclub. Their plan is disrupted when a powerful opponent attacks them in a Paris bathroom, producing one of the film’s most widely discussed hand-to-hand fights. The confrontation also introduces the mysterious assassin later identified as Nils Debruuk.
The Paris operation forms part of the film’s opening mission to recover plutonium cores. Ethan’s decision to save Luther instead of killing a captured opponent allows the plutonium to escape, setting the main crisis in motion.
Paris is distinct from the later helicopter pursuit in the Kashmir region and the London operations involving the White Widow. Fallout was directed by Christopher McQuarrie and released in 2018.
