In Mission: Impossible – Fallout, August Walker is revealed to be John Lark.

Walker initially appears to be a CIA operative assigned to supervise Ethan Hunt during the plutonium recovery mission. His aggressive methods and distrust of Hunt create tension, while the identity of the extremist mastermind known as John Lark remains a central mystery.

The film eventually reveals that Walker is Lark, secretly leading the Apostles. The twist is sometimes confused with Solomon Lane, because Lane is the best-known extremist villain in the earlier films and is also involved in Fallout. Henry Cavill played Walker, while Sean Harris returned as Lane.
