The nuclear extremists’ group in Mission: Impossible – Fallout is called the Apostles.
The Apostles are a terrorist organization formed from remnants of the Syndicate, the criminal network central to Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. In Fallout, the group seeks to carry out a plan involving three nuclear weapons and uses John Lark as part of its conspiracy.
The organization’s name can be confused with the Syndicate because the two groups are directly connected. Fallout continues storylines from Rogue Nation, including the pursuit of Solomon Lane and the consequences of the Syndicate’s collapse. Christopher McQuarrie wrote and directed the 2018 film, which also introduced Henry Cavill’s character August Walker.
