In Klaus, what profession does Jesper have before becoming a postman in Smeerensburg?

In Klaus, Jesper is a postal academy student before becoming a postman in Smeerensburg.

Jesper is the spoiled son of the postmaster general. As punishment for his careless attitude, he is sent to the remote island town of Smeerensburg and ordered to collect thousands of letters. His assignment is intended to teach him responsibility or force him to fail.

There he meets the reclusive toymaker Klaus and the teacher Alva. Their cooperation gradually changes the town, whose feuding families have prevented ordinary kindness. Jesper’s postal work becomes the mechanism through which gifts and goodwill spread, helping create the legend associated with Santa Claus.

Klaus was released in 2019 and directed by Sergio Pablos. Jason Schwartzman voices Jesper, J. K. Simmons voices Klaus, and Rashida Jones voices Alva. The film was Netflix’s first original animated feature and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature.
