In Goldfinger, Bond’s female pilot and leader of Pussy Galore’s Flying Circus is Pussy Galore.
Pussy Galore is played by Honor Blackman and serves as one of the film’s principal characters. She leads an all-female group of pilots recruited by Auric Goldfinger for his plan to irradiate the United States Bullion Depository’s gold supply at Fort Knox.
The character’s name comes directly from Ian Fleming’s 1959 novel Goldfinger. In the film, Galore initially works for Goldfinger but eventually turns against him after Bond explains the consequences of the operation. Her pilots also help prevent the wider biological catastrophe Goldfinger planned.
Pussy Galore is often confused with other Bond women such as Tilly Masterson, who also appears in Goldfinger, or May Day, a henchwoman from A View to a Kill. Honor Blackman was 38 when Goldfinger was released, making her one of the older leading Bond actresses of the era.
