In Genesis, what were the three dimensions of Noah's Ark?

The story behind the answer

In Genesis, Noah's Ark measured 300 by 50 by 30 cubits.

The dimensions appear in the construction instructions given to Noah: the Ark is described as 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. Genesis gives the measurements in cubits, an ancient unit whose exact length varied by culture and period.

Because the cubit is not fixed in the biblical passage, modern conversions are approximate. Using a cubit of roughly 45 centimetres would produce a vessel about 135 metres long, 22 metres wide, and 14 metres high. Other estimates use slightly different values, so conversions should not be presented as exact biblical measurements.

The text also says the Ark had a roof, a door in its side, and three decks or levels. Those details are separate from the dimensions. The biblical Ark is consequently described with unusual architectural specificity, even though the narrative does not provide a modern engineering plan or a confirmed archaeological specimen.
