In Genesis, what was the name of Noah's grandson who became a mighty hunter?

The story behind the answer

In Genesis, Noah's grandson who became a mighty hunter was Nimrod.

Genesis 10:8–9 identifies Nimrod as a son of Cush, and Cush is listed as one of Ham’s sons. That makes Nimrod Noah’s grandson within the genealogy presented after the flood. The passage calls him a mighty one on the earth and a mighty hunter before the Lord.

Genesis associates Nimrod with the beginning of a kingdom in Babel, Erech, Akkad, and Calneh in the land of Shinar, and then with Assyria and cities including Nineveh. Later Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions expanded his legendary profile, sometimes connecting him with the Tower of Babel.

The biblical text itself does not call Nimrod the builder of the Tower of Babel, nor does it explicitly identify him with a securely known historical king. Those associations belong to later interpretation and tradition rather than a direct statement in Genesis.
