In Genesis, Noah was told to put food on the Ark with every kind of animal.
Genesis 6:21 instructs Noah to take every kind of food that is eaten and store it as provisions for himself, his family, and the animals. The instruction appears immediately after the command to bring living creatures aboard, making stored food part of the Ark’s survival plan.
Genesis does not provide a menu, quantities, feeding schedule, or detailed system for distributing the provisions. Later retellings and illustrations often add hay, grain, fruit, or separate animal stalls, but those details are not specified in the passage itself.
The food instruction is sometimes overlooked because popular versions focus on the animals entering the Ark. In the biblical account, however, the vessel carries both living creatures and supplies intended to sustain them during the Flood.
