In Genesis, Noah pursued farming after the Flood.
Genesis 9:20 describes Noah as a man of the soil and says that he planted a vineyard. The passage therefore presents agriculture as his post-Flood occupation, followed by the production of wine from the vineyard.
The account then tells of Noah drinking wine and becoming drunk, an episode involving his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. This scene is separate from the earlier Ark narrative but remains part of the same Genesis story about Noah’s life.
A common mix-up is to assume Noah’s main role was shepherding because the story involves animals. Genesis specifically identifies him as a cultivator after the Flood, not as a shepherd or fisherman.
