In Genesis, Noah sent out a dove after the raven to test whether the waters had receded.
Genesis 8 says Noah first sent a raven from the Ark. He then sent a dove, which initially found no place to rest and returned. After seven days, Noah sent it again; it came back with a freshly plucked olive leaf. A further seven-day interval preceded another release, after which the dove did not return.
This question is distinct from asking what the dove brought back: the answer here concerns the bird Noah sent after the raven. The sequence is also separate from the later biblical account of Noah leaving the Ark after God told him to do so.
