Genesis says Noah planted a vineyard after the Flood when he began working the ground.
Genesis 9:20 describes Noah as a man of the soil who planted a vineyard. The next verses say that he drank wine made from its produce and became drunk, leading to the episode involving his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. This is the first agricultural activity specifically attributed to Noah after the Ark story.
The vineyard is not the same as the olive leaf brought back by the dove in Genesis 8. That leaf is evidence in the narrative that vegetation had reappeared, while the vineyard is a later planting by Noah himself. Genesis does not say that Noah planted an olive grove, fig orchard, or wheat field in this passage, so “a vineyard” is the specific answer.
