In Genesis, how old is Noah when he dies?

The story behind the answer

In Genesis, Noah dies at the age of 950.

Genesis 9:28 says Noah lives 350 years after the Flood, and Genesis 9:29 gives his total lifespan as 950 years. This places him among the exceptionally long-lived figures in the genealogies of Genesis, though he is not the oldest person named there.

Methuselah is traditionally said to live 969 years, while Jared is given 962 years. Those ages appear in the antediluvian genealogy of Genesis 5, before the Flood narrative.

The number belongs to the biblical chronology and should not be confused with modern historical or biological life-expectancy data. Noah’s age at death is also separate from his age when the Flood begins: Genesis 7:6 says he is 600 years old at that point.
