Fast & Furious 6 stages its climactic runway chase in Spain.
The film’s final action sequence follows Dominic Toretto’s team as they pursue Owen Shaw’s convoy during an attempted escape. The scene takes place on a long airstrip in Spain and features cars, military vehicles and aircraft moving together in an extended pursuit. Its unusually lengthy runway has become one of the franchise’s most discussed action sequences.
The film also uses London and other locations, which can make the setting easy to misidentify. Much of the story involves an international team operating across Europe, while the climactic chase is specifically associated with the Spanish airfield. Brazil is more strongly connected with Fast Five, whose major action sequences take place in Rio de Janeiro.
Fast & Furious 6 was released in 2013 and was directed by Justin Lin. It continues the storyline involving Owen Shaw and marks a major point in the franchise’s shift from street-racing dramas toward large-scale international action.
