In darts, how many points does hitting treble 20 score with one dart?

The story behind the answer

Hitting treble 20 with one dart scores 60 points.

The 20 segment is worth 20 points when struck in its wide single area. The narrow inner ring multiplies that value by three, producing 60. The outer narrow ring is the double ring and scores 40.

Treble 20 is the most valuable scoring target available with one dart on a standard board. Hitting it three times produces 180, the maximum possible score in a single three-dart visit. Because of that, players commonly aim at treble 20 during the scoring phase of an x01 leg.

A dart touching a wire or landing in another part of the 20 segment does not automatically score 60; it must be in the treble ring. The phrase “treble” is widely used in professional darts, while “triple” is also understood. The number’s position on the board is fixed in the standard numbering layout.
