In Counter-Strike, the default Terrorist starting pistol is the Glock-18.
The Glock-18 is a low-cost Austrian-designed machine pistol available to the Terrorist side at the beginning of standard rounds. Players can fire it in semiautomatic mode or use its burst-fire setting, making it distinct from most other pistols in the game. Its large magazine helps new players manage early-round fights.
The Counter-Terrorist starting pistol is the USP-S in modern Counter-Strike 2, while earlier versions used the USP or P2000. This side-specific equipment is one of the series’ basic economic differences: both teams begin with different pistols, but neither receives a full rifle loadout.
The Glock-18 should not be confused with the Tec-9, another Terrorist-side pistol that must be purchased. The Glock is supplied automatically, so its purchase price is zero at the start of a normal round.
