In Assassin's Creed III, which Mohawk warrior becomes a central Assassin protagonist?

The story behind the answer

In Assassin's Creed III, the Mohawk warrior Ratonhnhaké:ton becomes the central Assassin protagonist.

Ratonhnhaké:ton is also known by the name Connor Kenway, which he adopts during the game's story. He is the son of Haytham Kenway and a Mohawk woman named Kaniehtí:io. His personal journey unfolds during the American Revolution, where he becomes involved in the Assassin–Templar conflict while defending his community.

A common mix-up is treating Connor Kenway and Ratonhnhaké:ton as separate characters. They are the same person: Ratonhnhaké:ton is his birth name, and Connor Kenway is the name he uses in colonial society. Achilles Davenport trains him in the Assassin ways and helps him rebuild a local Brotherhood.

Assassin's Creed III contrasts Connor's Indigenous identity with the political and military upheaval of the late eighteenth century. The game includes historical figures such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Charles Lee, but Connor himself is a fictional character.
