In Assassin's Creed III, the Native American Assassin known as Connor was born Ratonhnhaké:ton.
Ratonhnhaké:ton is a member of the Kanien'kehá:ka, also called the Mohawk, and is the son of Haytham Kenway. He adopts the name Connor during his interactions with colonial society, while his birth name remains central to his identity and heritage. His story unfolds during the American Revolution.
The character is often called Connor because that is the name used throughout much of the game and marketing. Haytham is his father and a Templar, not the same character. Connor's narrative connects Indigenous history, the colonial conflict, and the long Assassin–Templar struggle.
