In Assassin's Creed Origins, which Roman general is a major historical character alongside Bayek and Aya?

The story behind the answer

Julius Caesar is the major Roman general who appears alongside Bayek and Aya in Assassin's Creed Origins.

Origins is set primarily in Ptolemaic Egypt during the first century BCE. Bayek of Siwa and Aya become involved in struggles among Cleopatra, her rivals, and Roman forces. Julius Caesar enters the story as Rome's military and political power expands into Egypt, linking the game's fictional origins of the Hidden Ones with real events surrounding the collapse of the Ptolemaic kingdom.

The game fictionalizes private conversations, secret organizations, and parts of the characters' relationships while retaining recognizable historical figures and broad political developments. Mark Antony also appears in the story, which can make the Roman cast easy to confuse. Caesar, however, is the general whose arrival and alliance with Cleopatra are central to the game's late historical conflict. Origins was released in 2017 and takes place before the later chronological settings of most classic series entries.
