The blue Skyline appears prominently in the 2003 sequel, which follows Brian after he leaves Los Angeles and teams with childhood friend Roman Pearce in Miami. Its distinctive blue paint, silver graphics, and high-performance all-wheel-drive platform made it one of the franchise's most recognizable cars.

The R34 is the tenth-generation Skyline GT-R and was produced by Nissan from 1999 to 2002. It used the RB26DETT twin-turbocharged inline-six engine. The movie car was heavily modified for filming, and multiple vehicles or replicas were used for different shots.
