Genesis gives Noah’s Ark a width of 50 cubits.
Genesis 6:15 lists three dimensions: 300 cubits in length, 50 cubits in width, and 30 cubits in height. The width is therefore one-sixth of the stated length. Because the biblical cubit was an ancient unit whose exact length is uncertain, converting the Ark into modern metres produces estimates rather than a single certain measurement.
The Ark’s dimensions are sometimes remembered incorrectly because the length, 300 cubits, is the most frequently quoted figure. The width and height are separate measurements. Genesis also says the Ark had rooms, a lower deck, a second deck, and a third deck. These details describe a large box-like vessel in the narrative, but they do not provide enough information to reconstruct every structural feature or determine a verified historical ship design.
