How tall is the Statue of Unity skyscraper-style monument in India?

The story behind the answer

India’s Statue of Unity is 182 metres tall.

The monument stands near Kevadia in Gujarat and depicts Vallabhbhai Patel, a major leader of India’s independence movement and the country’s first deputy prime minister. It was designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar.

The statue was unveiled on October 31, 2018, Patel’s birth anniversary. Its height was chosen to correspond with Gujarat’s 182-member Legislative Assembly at the time of the project’s conception.

Although it is not a conventional habitable skyscraper, the Statue of Unity is frequently discussed alongside supertall landmarks because of its exceptional height. Visitors can reach an observation gallery inside the statue’s chest area.
