The launch model of Xbox Series S had 512 GB of internal storage.
Microsoft released Xbox Series S alongside Xbox Series X on November 10, 2020. The Series S was the smaller, lower-priced, all-digital member of the generation. Its internal solid-state drive had a nominal capacity of 512 GB, although the space available for games and apps was lower because the operating system and reserved system data occupied part of the drive.
The console targeted 1440p gaming and could upscale output to 4K in supported circumstances. Unlike Xbox Series X, it did not include a disc drive, so players used digital purchases, downloads, and subscriptions such as Xbox Game Pass.
Storage capacity is often confused with the later 1 TB black Xbox Series S model. That version expanded storage, but the original white launch model remained the 512 GB system. External USB storage can hold older games, while optimized current-generation games generally require the internal drive or an expansion card.
