How many USB 3.0 ports does the Xbox One console have?

The story behind the answer

The Xbox One console has three USB 3.0 ports.

Microsoft equipped the Xbox One with two USB ports on the rear and one on the left side of the console. These ports support accessories and external storage, making it possible to connect devices such as a hard drive, wired controller, or other compatible USB equipment.

The USB count is sometimes confused with the number of HDMI ports on the original Xbox One, which had separate HDMI input and output connections. It is also different from later Xbox One revisions, whose external design changed while retaining the same three-port arrangement. The ports use the USB 3.0 standard, which offers higher transfer performance than USB 2.0 for supported devices.
