Five people were credited with the 2026 Critics Choice Award for Best Sound for F1.
The credited winners were Al Nelson, Gwendolyn Yates Whittle, Gary A. Rizzo, Juan Peralta, and Gareth John. Their collective award recognized the sound work on F1, the racing drama directed by Joseph Kosinski.
Best Sound was introduced as a new film category at the 31st Critics’ Choice Awards. F1 won over sound teams from Frankenstein, One Battle After Another, Sinners, Sirāt, and Warfare, making the category a competition among several technically ambitious productions.
Counting the names matters because this was a team award rather than an individual prize. The five credited recipients should not be confused with the separate Best Visual Effects team, which had four credited winners for Avatar: Fire and Ash.
