Eight people from Noah’s family entered the Ark in the Genesis flood account.
Genesis 7:13 lists Noah, his wife, his three sons, and the wives of his three sons as entering the Ark. That totals eight people. The same family structure is reflected in later New Testament references, including 1 Peter 3:20, which speaks of eight people being saved through water.
The three sons are named Shem, Ham, and Japheth in Genesis 5:32 and 7:13. Their wives are not named in the biblical flood narrative. Noah’s wife is also unnamed, although later traditions give her different names. Those later names are not part of the canonical Genesis account.
This number refers to human occupants, not to animals or the total population of the world. It is also separate from questions about how many animals entered the Ark, since Genesis uses different instructions for clean and unclean animals in different passages.
